Self Defense
I made Self Defense as part of a 11 person team for the Brackeys Game Jam 2024. Our game placed in the top 15% of all games submitted, and placed in the top 2% for Innovation and top 7% for Theme.
The theme for this game was “Calm Before the Storm”. We decided to design the game to meet the theme by having a “calm” phase where players would be in control of their character and a “storm” phase where the player’s character broke free from the player’s control and needed to be stopped.
I was responsible for a significant portion of the development of the game, as well as designing aspects ranging from tower and traps to parts of the monster’s moveset.

“Super interesting concept and take on the theme! I’ve seen this concept in movies, but I don’t think I’ve played a game where you defend other people from your monster self before.”
“I loved the creative twist you put on the tower defense genre! The concept is really engaging, and I found it fun to experiment with different tower combinations.”
“The concept is genius. In the preparation phase i was thinking about how the enemies would look like, not realizing it was me! Hahaha, that’s a good twist.”
